This statewide health care symposium is focused on pharmacy education. Speakers will discuss the latest updates and advancements in pharmacology, including a review of new drugs and new treatment strategies. Speakers also will critique recently published clinical trials and research findings.
A "Question & Answer" session will be held after each lecture. Saint Joseph Clinical Pharmacy Services is dedicated to excellence and innovation in the continuum of pharmaceutical care and education. This program will allow participants to become part of this continuum as they further their education.

1. Describe the labeled and off label indications and common dosing for these medications 2. Identify each items risks and benefits over presently available drugs 3. Recognize the potential for adverse effects of each medication and the precautions needed to minimize their occurrence 4. Identify relative and absolute contraindications to these medications
9:30-10:30
1. Describe the pathophysiology and epidemiology of breast cancer 2. Discuss several cellular targets for breast cancer medications 3. Identify new medications available for the treatment of breast cancer 4. Review noteworthy recent breast cancer therapy-related literature
11:00-12:00
1. Examine major criteria for setting and revising antibacterial susceptibility breakpoints 2. Analyze current trends in antimicrobial resistance 3. Design antibacterial regimens that maximize pharmacodynamic outcomes based on MIC data

1. Describe the pharmacology and MOA for new antithrombotic agents 2. Evaluate the ADR’s & side effects associated with these agents 3. Determine appropriate doses depending on pt’s renal & hepatic function
2:00-3:00
1. Recall the newest antidotes for methotrexate and 5-fluorouracil induced toxicities 2. Describe strategies for determining if an experimental antidote is available 3. Review FDA approved antidotes for chemotherapy induced toxicities
