Diabetes Self-Management Classes

Our series of comprehensive of diabetes classes are designed to help you build your skills from session to session. These classes are perfect for you whether you have recently learned you have diabetes or if you have had diabetes for a while. After attending the three distinct sessions you will have a good understanding of meal planning, exercising, blood glucose monitoring, taking medications and coping with diabetes. You will also learn about your type of diabetes, how to prevent long term complications from uncontrolled diabetes and how to treat short-term complications that sometimes occur. Participants are encouraged to bring a family member or friend with them. Morning, afternoon and evening classes are held on various days. Class series are held on the first three weeks of each month (unless there is a holiday they are offered on 2, 3, and 4 weeks of the month). Individual education sessions may also be provided for those unable to come to a class. Education may include: gestational diabetes, insulin administration, insulin pump start and training, blood sugar meter and other nutrition education.
