Dr. Owen is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May of 2012 from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.  Her current practice interests include critical care and hospital administration.  Dr. Owen plans to enhance her teaching and presentation skills through completion of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program offered by the University of Kentucky.  Her research focuses on the evaluation of rivaroxaban vs. fondaparinux for VTE prophylaxis in orthopedic surgery patients.  Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, she plans to pursue a position in clinical hospital pharmacy practice.  In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, and cheering for the Louisville Cardinals.

Dr. West is originally from Olathe, KS and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May of 2012 from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in Lawrence, KS.  Her current practice interests include behavioral medicine, internal medicine, and critical care. Dr. West plans to complete The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program offered by the University of Kentucky to enhance her presentation and teaching skills.  Her research involves the evaluation of two insulin infusion protocols used in the intensive care unit at Saint Joseph Hospital East in order to determine their comparative safety and efficacy. Upon completion of her PGY1 residency, she plans to pursue a specialized PGY2 residency in psychiatric medicine. Ultimately, she hopes to obtain a clinical position in a hospital setting where she can utilize her clinical skills in behavioral health. In her spare time she enjoys running, cooking, reading and group power.
