Flaget Memorial Hospital, Bardstown, KY
Norma Goss promoted to chief operating officer/chief nursing officer at Flaget Memorial Hospital
Nelson County native Norma Goss, BSN, MSN/ED, has been promoted to the position of chief operating officer/chief nursing officer at Flaget Memorial Hospital.
Goss, who has been a nurse for 18 years, began working at Flaget in 1996 in the emergency department. From there, she moved to the intensive care unit, and from there was promoted to the director of the intensive care and transitional care units. She was then promoted to inpatient director, then director of nursing. She completed her BSN in 2008 and master of science in nursing degree in January of 2011, both with the University of Phoenix.
“Norma brings to this position many years of clinical and managerial experience,” said Flaget President Sue Downs, MSN, CENP. “I am very pleased to announce her promotion. Her focus is always on how to provide the best possible care for the patient. Norma also provides a listening ear and heart to employees and physicians. She is committed to Flaget’s ministry and mission and will be able, in this more responsible role, to be an even better advocate for patients, co-workers and physicians.”
Goss is married to Scott Goss. The couple has two boys: Nathan and Jared. Goss’ parents are Mary Rita Greenwell and the late Philip Greenwell.
The promotion will be an opportunity for Goss to continue doing what she loves, she said.
“I enjoy working in my own community hospital making an impression on safe, quality patient care.”
