The Saint Joseph Hospital Library has many nursing journals that offer CE. The library is located behind the auditorium in the Keeneland Health Education Center. Journals cannot be taken out of the Library. The Library also offers Internet access. The Library is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Springhouse Corporation offers continuing education via the Internet at www.springnet.com. There is a fee for these programs.
The National Center of Continuing Education, Inc. offers continuing education for nurses and allied health care professionals, including Domestic/Family Violence and HIV/AIDS which meet and exceed Legislative and State Board requirements for mandatory education in Kentucky. There is a fee for the programs. They may be contacted 24 hours a day at 800.824.1254 or at their Web site www.nursece.com.
CME Resource offers continuing education. They usually offer a brochure with 30 hours of CE, including the mandated offerings approved for Kentucky. CME Resource can be reached at 800.232.4238.
Kentucky Regional Poison Center of Kosair Children's Hospital offers Continuing Professional Education on the Internet free of charge. For physicians, there will be Category 1 credits for the Physicians Recognition Award of the AMA; for nurses, there are CE credits recognized by the KBN; for pharmacists, there will be CE credits recognized by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy. To access this service, visit the Web site at www.krpc.com. Once there, click on the "Professional Education" button. The site is designed to allow you to take the educational offering while online and receive credit immediately, including a printed a printed certificate of completion. Additionally, social work CEs may be obtained through The Kentucky Chapter of The National Association of Social Worker's Web site at www.naswky.org.
