Clinical Trials

A clinical trial is a study to test new drugs or combinations of new drugs in treatment of a disease. It is a type of research designed to determine the effectiveness and safety of a drug or a device in humans.  Clinical trials are necessary for new drugs to be approved by the Federal Drug Administration. Your oncologist will talk to you about the benefits of participation in treatment of your cancer. Participation is voluntary.
